Elder Billy R. Brown

About the Clinician

Elder Billy Ray Brown is a native of Prentiss, Mississippi. He was born September 3, 1969 the second child to Deacon Billy C. Brown and the late Missionary Mary Helen Brown. He has two children, De’Lisa Nicole and Isaiah, and two grandsons, Jason and Jase.

Elder Brown graduated from Prentiss High School in 1987. In May 1992, he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Pursuing his dream, Elder Brown received a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree in May 1998 from the University Of Mississippi School Of Pharmacy in Oxford, Mississippi. He then received a Community Practice Residency Certificate in June 1999 from Marty’s Pharmacy & Compounding Center in conjunction with the University Of Mississippi Medical Center. Elder Brown’s practice areas of focus at the G V (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center are HIV disease management and Anticoagulation management. His passion as a healthcare provider has afforded him the opportunity of being an international lecturer on HIV disease management. Elder Brown also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the University Of Mississippi School Of Pharmacy – Jackson Campus.

Elder Brown is a member of St. Mary Church of God in Christ, New Hebron, Mississippi where his pastor is Elder Hosea Brown. He serves faithfully as Administrative Assistant, Trustee Board Chairman, Sunday School teacher, Youth Director, and Choir member. Elder Brown also serves as President of St. Mary’s Outreach Ministries, Inc. which hosts an annual health fair to benefit the community.

As a dedicated member of District Number 10 and under the leadership of Administrative Assistant, Superintendent Abraham Jones, Sr., Elder Brown serves as Armor Bearer, President of Y.M.C.C., Christian Education Coordinator, member of Budget Committee, and member of District Choir. He has established the annual Jones-Wilson Award and the Missionary Rita Walker Memorial Hope Award.

Jurisdictionally, Elder Brown was appointed Director of the Department of Christian Education in July 2015 after being mentored by the late Elder Morris Murray. He also serves faithfully as an Adjutant Brother.

Elder Brown believes that in every struggle, there are lessons to learn and blessings to receive. His favorite scripture is Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
